When I say, "I run cross country," I rarely take the sport's name too literally. After all, who actually runs across country - that is, who runs in muck, mud and fields? The running community is based out of paved streets and rubberized tracks nowadays. "I ran through the country" is what I told myself this past weekend at the NAIA Cross Country National Championships in Vancouver, Wash.
Two teams were locked in a tie atop the AAC women's basketball rankings on Wednesday afternoon. Milligan stood atop the AAC women's basketball rankings on Wednesday night. Their 78-71 victory over Union College took their record to 3-0 against conference rivals and 8-3 overall.
The finish of the NAIA Cross Country National Championships brings the end of the cross country season and a gear change for the runners who competed. Meanwhile, the track athletes have been prepping for the opening of their season, awaiting their turn to compete. The track and field team will start their indoor season at the MTSU Christmas Invitational on Dec. 12.
